There is a lot happening behind the scenes at Pulled From The Pits.
On any given day, one dog may be preparing for the long trip north to Maine, another may be settling into a foster home for the first time, and another may be working with a professional trainer to become the very best version of themselves. Somewhere else, a foster family is learning everything they can about the dog in their care so we can find the right forever home.
And, of course, there are always dogs still waiting for someone to notice them.
This is rescue.
It isn't simply pulling a dog from a shelter and finding someone willing to adopt them. It's transportation, veterinary care, quarantine, fostering, training, decompression, adoption screening, countless messages and phone calls, and sometimes months of patiently waiting for the right family to come along.
Recently, we've welcomed new dogs into the PFTP family while continuing to advocate for some very special dogs who have been waiting much longer than we ever hoped.
We've watched dogs experience home life after spending far too long in shelters. We've seen foster families help frightened or uncertain dogs begin to feel safe. We've invested in professional training when a dog needed more than love alone could provide. We've celebrated medical milestones, successful transports, new foster homes, adoptions, and all of those little victories that happen long before a dog gets their official "ADOPTED" photo.
And none of it happens without you.
Every foster home gives us the ability to say yes to another dog.
Every adopter gives one of our dogs the future we've been working toward.
Every donation helps with veterinary care, transportation, food, boarding, training and the many unexpected expenses that come with rescue.
Every person who shares one of our posts may put a dog in front of the person they've been waiting for.

🐾 Adopt. Take a look at our available dogs. Your new best friend may already be waiting.
🏡 Foster. You don't have to adopt a dog to completely change their life. Sometimes providing a safe place between "before" and "forever" is exactly what saves them.
❤️ Donate. Whether it's $5 or $500, donations allow us to provide the medical care, transportation, training and support our dogs need.
📣 Share. Never underestimate the power of hitting that share button. We have seen dogs find their families simply because the right person finally saw their face.
The Next Chapter
Pulled From The Pits continues to evolve, but our purpose hasn't changed.
We will continue advocating for the overlooked dogs, the misunderstood dogs, the dogs sitting in overcrowded shelters, the dogs who need a little extra help, and the dogs who simply haven't found their person yet.
Some will be easy.
Some will challenge us.
Some will require an entire village.
They're all worth it.

There are more dogs waiting.
